Educate NICU Patients' Families with NANN Products
The National Association of Neonatal Nurse (NANN) products for family education support nurses as they guide parents through their baby’s NICU journey. Developed by experienced neonatal nurses, these products ensure that families receive accurate, comprehensive information, empowering them to provide the best care for their babies at home. By using NANN's family education resources, nurses can foster a collaborative environment and standardize the foundations of family education across patients.
NICU Discharge Resources for Parent Education
Baby Steps to Home is the first standardized, evidence-based discharge pathway designed for nurses! This free online resource is available to all hospitals across the country, courtesy of NANN, as we seek to improve babies' transitions from the NICU to home.
Twenty-nine topics and more than two dozen conditions and procedures are covered. Each topic is presented in two parts:
- A section written for nurses or other NICU team members with evidence-based content and references to consult for more information.
- A section written for parents, in English and Spanish, that presents the content in easy-to-understand language that has messaging consistent with the nurse section. The parent-focused content discusses common issues and diagnoses parents may encounter while their baby is in the NICU, suggests questions to ask their baby’s provider, and provides practical information and tips parents will need now and after discharge.
